BIOGRAPHIES
Scott Fitzpatrick est un artiste en arts médiatiques, un technicien et un commissaire de Winnipeg, MB, dont les films et vidéos ont été projetés dans des festivals underground et des lieux marginalisés dans le monde entier. Travaillant avec le film et la vidéo, le son, le collage, l’impression et la performance, sa pratique intègre l’appropriation, la matérialité, le minimalisme et l’abstraction. Il a reçu des prix du Ann Arbor Film Festival, du Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival, du Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, et plus encore. Il est un des fondateurs du Winnipeg Underground Film Festival et un des anciens directeurs artistiques du WNDX Festival of Moving Image.
arc est un projet en cours de l’artiste et anarchiste connu sous le nom de tooth (USA), une figure importante du cinéma underground contemporain et une figure incontournable de la scène expérimentale de la Bay Area. tooth est la force motrice du microcinéma Black Hole Cinémathèque à Oakland, CA, et un des fondateurs du Black Hole Collective Film Lab et du festival de films Light Field présentant uniquement des films en celluloïd. Favorisant exclusivement les pratiques analogiques, le travail de tooth en tant qu’arc encourage une position de spectature trans-méditative où le perceptuel est politique, privilégiant l’autorat solitaire des objets et matériaux.

BIOGRAPHIES
Scott Fitzpatrick is a media artist, technician and arts programmer from Winnipeg, MB, whose film and video work has screened at underground festivals and marginalized venues worldwide. Working with film and video, sound, collage, print and performance, his practice engages modes of appropriation, materiality, minimalism and abstraction. He’s received prizes from the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival, Festival du Nouveau Cinema, and more. He’s a founder of the Winnipeg Underground Film Festival and a former artistic director of the WNDX Festival of Moving Image.
arc is an ongoing project by the artworker and anarchist known as tooth (USA), an important figure in contemporary underground cinema and a mainstay of the Bay Area experimental scene. tooth is the driving force behind the Oakland, CA microcinema Black Hole Cinematheque, and a founder of both Black Hole Collective Film Lab and the celluloid-only film festival Light Field. Exclusively favouring analogue practices, tooth’s work as arc encourages trance-like meditative spectatorship in which the perceptual is political, prioritizing the solitary authorship of objects and materials.
