PREMIÈRE VUE is a series of experimental cinema screenings aimed at young audiences aged 5 to 17, proposed by la lumière collective. The programs highlight experimental, poetic, abstract and hand-made cinema; in particular, works that fall under the heading of art cinema as opposed to works produced expressly for a young audience.

PROGRAMME

PROGRAMME

As the predecessors of the 35-mm slide and later digital media, filmstrips were primarily used in classrooms of the past. Having fallen out of use with the advent of modern technology, they are now abundant at flea markets, having held little archival value as educational materials.

Often fragmented, destroyed, or pieced back together, they nevertheless remind us of the voice of a teacher turned impromptu storyteller during a brief break from the whirlwind of schoolwork.

Following a demonstration, participants will be invited to rearrange individual 35mm film frames to create an original story. We will then reassemble the sequence of images before projecting it. Finally, each group will narrate its story, accompanied by one or more storytellers.

Maximum of 15 participants.
