PROGRAMME
Clos Dubis – The film –
The evening kicks off with the premiere of Clos Dubis, the 27-minute short film directed by Martin Saint Hillier for the release of the eponymous album.
Shot entirely on VHS-C, the film explores the artisanal creation of slides in a captivating lo-fi aesthetic.
This is not only the director’s first film, but also the label’s very first cinematic project.
Afterwards, in the presence of the project’s artistic director, the public will be invited to a privileged moment of exchange around the history of the project, the processes involved in making the film and soundtrack, and the links forged with the Canadian artists who contributed to the disc.
➤ Terre Synthe
Born in France, this improvisation project was the brainchild of Simon Saint Hillier and Etienne Perez. For this performance, Etienne Perez will present an original live solo, combining synthetic layers and urban sounds captured during his trip to Canada. An organic fusion of sonic exploration and recorded memories.
➤ Les petits Jeremy Roy du Mont-Royal
This is the very first performance of this new solo project by Montreal composer and director Jeremy Roy.
A daring live performance that promises to transport audiences into a never-before-seen musical universe shaped by the artist’s prolific imagination.
➤ Scenography by Alex Dodier
During the performances, artist Alex Dodier will animate the space with a set of cathode-ray TVs that will explore glitches and mixes between his personal archives and frames from the film.
