PREMIÈRE VUE is a series of experimental cinema screenings aimed at young audiences aged 5 to 17, proposed by la lumière collective. The programs highlight experimental, poetic, abstract and hand-made cinema; in particular, works that fall under the heading of art cinema as opposed to works produced expressly for a young audience.
PROGRAMME
Tears of Inge
The Fourfold

PROGRAMME
As part of the Montreal International Documentary Festival, la lumière collective has invited filmmaker Alisi Telengut to present a programme of her films and an under-the-camera animation workshop.
In this playful, hands-on animation workshop, participants will explore how to make animation intuitively using simple materials such as oil pastels and small found objects, along with accessible equipment. The workshop will begin with a half-hour film screening, followed by an animation workshop where participants will draw inspiration from the films and create their own moving images directly under the camera. In small groups, they will build animated landscapes on a single surface, frame by frame, exploring how simple elements and images can be transformed into an animated landscape. Because the animation is created directly on the same surface and accumulates over time, every mark and change becomes part of the final work. Mistakes made during the animation process are welcomed as part of the creative process.
Maximum of 30 participants. The workshop will be conducted in French.

The Fourfold
