BIOGRAPHIES
James Goddard

A storyteller and experimental saxophonist, he lives and works in Montreal (QC). His work explores themes related to race, the speculative, and the economy. He performs as a solo artist as well as with the duos NYON and Platitudes, the trio NPNP, Air Contains Honey, and the Egyptian Cotton Arkestra. His saxophone playing appears on numerous recordings and in performances, notably alongside the artist KY (Constellation Records) and Quinton Barnes’s Black Noise Ensemble. His background in community radio, concert production, and nonprofit administration informs a creative approach that prioritizes non-hierarchical principles.
Lamathilde (Mathilde Geromin) is a Franco-Canadian video, performance, and sound artist based in Montreal. With bachelor’s degrees in communication and film, and a master’s degree in linguistics, her approach is poetic, and her works reflect her passion for words, languages, sound, and image. Her highly personal and political creations are characterized by a DIY and minimalist aesthetic, wordplay and visual puns, and a healthy dose of humor and rhetoric. The subjects that concern her most are often serious and painful, and relate to identity through gender, sexuality, power dynamics and social oppression, and, more recently, trauma. Since 1999, her work has been shown at various festivals and galleries around the world (I+N, FIFA, Pink Screens, Les instants vidéos, Mix Festival, etc.).
Sanaz Sohrabi (born in 1988 in Tehran) is a researcher in visual culture and a filmmaker. She develops a practice at the intersection of the film essay and installation, centered on the shifts between still and moving images, situating each individual image within a continuum of historical relationships and archival temporalities.
Her work examines archival policies and regimes of visibility through which images are produced, circulated, and given meaning, particularly in the context of colonial and postcolonial histories linked to oil infrastructure and regimes of visual power.
