BIOGRAPHIES
V.Vecker (né Keith Wecker en 1983) est compositeur, improvisateur et multi-instrumentiste. Il utilise la technologie pour explorer son intérêt pour les possibilités de timbre et de temporalité qu’offre la musique électronique. En ayant recours à des techniques de design sonore axées sur les sons intermédiaires produits par un processus de superposition dense, V.Vecker parvient à créer des textures sonores riches et luxuriantes qui évoquent un environnement méditatif dans lequel l’auditeur peut s’immerger. Son approche personnelle de la création sonore se distingue par la diversité des artistes avec lesquels il a partagé la scène (Tim Hecker, Clark, Sumac, Thundercat, Wolf Eyes, Six Organs of Admittance, Goblin, Lori Goldston et Sun Araw), ainsi que par sa participation aux projets d’Anthony Braxton et de Glenn Branca. La musique de Keith a été présentée à travers l’Amérique du Nord, notamment lors de plusieurs éditions du Vancouver International Jazz Festival, du New Forms Festival, du VU Symposium et de l’Improvisors Summit PDX.

Fumerolles propose une musique ambiante où des paysages sonores organiques et des mélodies sucrées s’entrechoquent. Influencée du new age, du library music et des jeux vidéo, elle explore la notion de thème par la répétition et la déconstruction de ceux-ci.

Élément Kuuda capture depuis les années 2000 une musique qui voyage et s’imprègne des codes de la science-fiction, offrant des mondes dont les textures et sonorités oscillent entre ambiant lumineux et froideur synthétique. Ensemble, ils explorent les croisements entre leurs pratiques, combinant machines DIY, synthétiseurs et effets. Ils collaborent depuis 2018 et copilotent le label indépendant Isohyet.

Gabriel R. Drapeau se produit sous le nom de DocGazebo. Il est le cofondateur de la boutique d’instruments électroniques TechnoSynth et sa pratique est principalement centrée autour des synthétiseurs modulaires. Après avoir complété un baccalauréat en études cinématographiques, Gabriel a été accueilli au Bas-Saint-Laurent où il présenté Le Havre une exposition interactive. Il a cofondé le projet AGUMA, ayant sorti un album sur le label Chez Kito Kat Records et ayant participé aux 20e et 23e éditions du festival MUTEK Montréal. Gabriel a également participé à une résidence de création audiovisuelle dans le dôme de la Société des Arts Technologiques de Montréal, qui s’est conclue par une série de spectacles immersifs durant l’été 2022. Une itération de ce projet fut présentée au festival ACT en Corée du Sud en novembre 2023.
Rosalie Chretien est une artiste multidisciplinaire qui possède une pratique principalement ancrée dans l’art performance et sonore. Ses projets se déploient autour de la notion de pleine conscience, librement réinterprétée comme présence consciente et authentique. Chretien est diplômée en arts et en design. Son travail a été présenté dans le cadre du festival de musique et d’arts expérimentaux Suoni Per Il Popolo, de la série d’événements de performances LEGS, des soirées de musique improvisée Mardi Spaghetti ainsi que dans plusieurs autres contextes impromptus.
Denis Lafond est un adepte de l’art-performance s’interjetant entre la ré-ingénierie des mythes anciens devenus prestations opulentes et la fantomatique démarche dans les clairières du corps suspendu aux pulsions transformés en somptueux tableaux dont l’objectif est de trancher un quotidien banal pour dévoilé des instants résolument poétiques. Denis Lafond a notamment, sous le pseudonyme OffTélomère – Punk rock against aging ! – un projet d’expérimentation sonore auquel contribue occasionnellement d’autres artistes (un télomère est une extrémité protectrice de l’ADN des chromosomes prévenant la dégradation cellulaire).
Compositeur et interprète de musique expérimentale basé à Montréal, Antoine Goudreau explore les constructions perceptuelles du son, du mouvement et du visuel pour stimuler la pensée consciente et inconsciente de son public. Il conçoit ses œuvres comme des expériences personnalisées qui guident les participants vers des espaces liminaux de l’expérience humaine. Les œuvres de Goudreau ont été présentées à l’international (CA, US, ES, MX, GB, ID). Sa pratique audiovisuelle, tournant autour de l’abstraction, de la synchrèse rigide et de figures lynchiennes cheap, s’est développée sous la direction de Myriam Boucher, Line Katcho et Barbara Finck-Beccafico. Il collabore régulièrement avec le compositeur Arya Deva Suryanegara, l’ensemble de gamelan balinais Giri Kedaton et avec le saxophoniste Antonin Bourgault (Phren).

V.Vecker (b. Keith Wecker, 1983) is a composer, improvisor, and multi-instrumentalist using technology to explore his interest in the timbral and temporal possibilities that exist within electronic-based music. Utilizing sound design techniques to focus on the in-between sounds produced via a dense layering process, V.Vecker is able to create dense and luxurious sonic textures that evoke a meditative sonic environment for the listener to immerse themselves in. His personal approach to sound creation is highlighted by the diversity of the acts he has shared the stage with (Tim Hecker, Clark, Sumac, Thundercat, Wolf Eyes, Six Organs of Admittance, Goblin, Lori Goldston and Sun Araw) as well as participating in projects of Anthony Braxton and Glenn Branca. Since the 2000s, Élément Kuuda has been crafting music that travels through and immerses itself in the codes of science fiction, offering worlds whose textures and sounds oscillate between bright ambience and synthetic coldness. Together, they explore the intersections of their practices, combining DIY machines, synthesizers, and effects. They have been collaborating since 2018 and co-piloting a new tape label project, Isohyet.

Gabriel R. Drapeau performs under the name DocGazebo. He is the co-founder of the electronic instrument shop TechnoSynth, and his practice focuses mainly on modular synthesizers. After completing a bachelor’s degree in film studies, Gabriel was welcomed to the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, where he presented Le Havre, an interactive exhibition. He co-founded the project AGUMA, which released an album on the label Chez Kito Kat Records and performed at the 20th and 23rd editions of the MUTEK Montréal festival. Gabriel also took part in an audiovisual creation residency in the dome of Montreal’s Société des Arts Technologiques, which concluded with a series of immersive performances during the summer of 2022. An iteration of this project was presented at the ACT Festival in South Korea in November 2023.
Rosalie Chretien is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is primarily rooted in performance and sound art. Their projects address the notion of mindfulness, focusing on an authentic feeling of aliveness. Chretien graduated in Arts and Design. Their work has been presented at the Suoni Per Il Popolo experimental music and arts festival, the LEGS performance series, the Mardi Spaghetti improvised music evenings, and has been featured in a multitude of other events.
Denis Lafond is a performance artist with primary interests in creating works and reengineering mythologies, using mixed media, dance, photography, video and sound. He cultivates a poetic mindset: finding meaning in mundane details, looking for the extraordinary in the ordinary. Lafond has a sound experimentation project, for which he uses the pseudonym OffTélomère, occasionally collaborating with other artists.
Composer and performer of experimental music based in Montreal, Antoine Goudreau explores perceptual constructs of sound, movement, and visuals to stimulate un/conscious thought in his audience. He designs his works as personalized experiences that guide participants toward liminal spaces of human experience. Goudreau’s works have been presented internationally (CA, US, ES, MX, GB, ID). His audiovisual practice, revolving around abstraction, rigid synchresis and cheap lynchian tropes, was developed under Myriam Boucher, Line Katcho, and Barbara Finck-Beccafico. He regularly collaborates with composer Arya Deva Suryanegara, the Balinese gamelan ensemble Giri Kedaton and with saxophonist Antonin Bourgault (Phren).
