Matthew Wolkow
Animé par la curiosité d’un savoir nouveau, Matthew Wolkow crée un cinéma révélant les personnes qu’il rencontre et histoires qui en émergent. Situé entre essai et expérimentation, côtoyant réel, imaginaire, paroles et sensorialités, son travail bénéficie de cette hybridité où la forme est approchée comme résolution. En octobre 2021, la Cinémathèque québécoise lui consacre une première rétrospective.
Jean-Jacques Martinod
Jean-Jacques Martinod est un cinéaste, artiste multimédia, éducateur et DJ radio de nationalité équatorienne. Ses œuvres examinent nos espaces en tant que paysages déterritorialisés dans le cadre d’une pratique artistique qui considère les interrelations entre les géographies psychiques fluctuantes et l’expérience humaine. S’appuyant sur certaines traditions de la pratique documentaire et du cinéma expérimental, ses œuvres tentent d’interroger la notion de la cognition sensorielle dans sa relation avec le monde naturel et les structures mythopoétiques.
Son travail a été présenté dans des musées, des galeries, des festivals de cinéma et des espaces indépendants dirigés par des artistes, notamment au Museum of the Moving Image, à la Cinemateca do MAM Rio de Janeiro, au Centre PHI, à l’IFFR, au Sheffield Doc/Fest, au FIDMarseille, à Mar del Plata, au European Media Arts Festival, au 25FPS, au Festival Images, à Frontera Sur, au Camden International Film Festival, à Fracto, à Experiments in Cinema, entre autres.
Marilène Provencher-Leduc
La flûtiste Marilène Provencher-Leduc complète des études classiques au Conservatoire de musique de Montréal ainsi qu’un doctorat en interprétation à L’université de Montréal. Elle intègre par la suite l’improvisation à sa pratique instrumentale et aime se détacher des modèles et connotations habituelles de son instrument en élargissant de toutes les manières possibles son vocabulaire tant de manière acoustique qu’avec des pedales d’effets.

BIOGRAPHIES
Matthew Wilkow
Animated with a curiosity for new knowledge, Matthew Wolkow creates a cinema revealing the persons he meets and the stories that come along. Situated between essay and experimentation, rubbing the real, the imaginary, speech, words and sensorialities, his work beneficiates from this hybridity where form is approached as a resolution. In October 2021, the Cinémathèque québécoise screened his first retrospective.
Jean-Jacques Martinod
Jean-Jacques Martinod is an Ecuadorian filmmaker, multimedia artist, educator, and radio DJ. His works study locales as deterritorialized landscapes in a practice that considers the interrelations inherent in fluctuating psychic geographies and expanded human experience. Utilizing certain traditions within documentary practice and experimental cinema, his works endeavor to interrogate sensory cognition in relation to the natural world and potential mythopoetic structures.
His work has screened in museums, galleries, film festivals and independent artist-led spaces including The Museum of the Moving Image, Cinemateca do MAM Rio de Janeiro, Centre PHI, IFFR, Sheffield Doc/Fest, FIDMarseille, Mar del Plata, European Media Arts Festival, 25FPS, Images Festival, Frontera Sur, Camden International Film Festival, Fracto, Experiments in Cinema, among many others.
Marilène Provencher-Leduc
Flutist Marilène Provencher-Leduc completed classical studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal as well as a doctorate in performance at Université de Montréal. She subsequently integrates improvisation into her instrumental practice and likes to detach herself from the usual models and connotations of her instrument by expanding her vocabulary in all possible ways, both acoustically and with effects pedals.
